What is Document Imaging?
Due to regulatory pressures and the fast pace of
technology, paperwork in the 21st century has increased
significantly. Document Imaging allows this increase to be
handled by your current staff. In addition, electronic
documents are easily copied and stored off-site for disaster
recovery. And with PC and storage costs dropping rapidly, it
costs much less today to store documents electronically than
on paper.
"Document Imaging" refers to the technology of scanning
documents using page scanners, creating a bit map image of
the document, usually in a compressed format and storing
this image with an index on a computer to allow retrieval
and viewing of the document.
Organizations live and breathe in a sea of paper. Current
document management technology grows out of the business
community where 80% to 85% of corporate information resides
in paper documents. Efficient management of that paper is
crucial to the success of your organization.
When information is freed from the physical limitations
of paper and converted into an electronic document format,
it becomes a more valuable strategic resource. Our Document
Imaging Systems allow you to create electronic documents
that can be viewed, searched, and printed from virtually any
computer or printer while pages retain their original look
and feel complete with text, graphics, photos, and color.
Studies show that workers waste approximately 20% to 40%
of their time searching for documents manually. In the past,
losing or misplacing paper files was a fact of life every
business had to deal with.
Selecting the right document imaging system can be an
exciting task. There are many aspects to consider to make
sure it fits your organization's needs. Using the expertise
gathered from over thirteen years of creating document
imaging solutions for our customers, we've assembled a list
of things to look for.
